AIGA Link Workshop

Recently my colleague and I volunteered with AIGA’s Link Program that exposes high school students to art, design and critical thinking. Together with a team of talented local design volunteers we lead the students in a session about design and an in-depth brainstorming session, then moved onto designing the decks. The students did not cease to amaze—incredible, beautiful, inspiring works of art were being illustrated, painted and college onto the decks. The experience left me feeling so grateful for the opportunity and a great glimpse into the future.

As volunteers, we were able to create decks ourselves. Getting out a paint brush, quickly concepting an idea, and bringing it to life on an unfamiliar surface was a great wake-up for an early Saturday morning.
